Which material should you choose?
The material has a big impact on how the ball feels and how well it holds up. Your choice will depend mainly on where you play – and how often.
Rubber
Rubber balls are the obvious choice for beginners and outdoor play. They are affordable, durable and can withstand hard surfaces such as asphalt and tiles. However, the surface can feel a little rough during longer games.
Synthetic leather
Synthetic leather balls provide better grip and a softer surface than rubber. They can be used both indoors and outdoors and are reasonably priced. You can also find "premium synthetic leather", which has slightly better grip and durability.
Microfiber leather
Microfiber is a quality choice that is often used in tournaments and clubs. The surface is soft, has excellent grip and is slightly moisture-absorbent - making it especially suitable for sweaty hands and intense training.
Genuine leather
Genuine leather balls are the absolute top class. They are used in NBA and international matches. They may seem slippery at first, but become softer and better over time. Suitable for those who play a lot and only indoors.
